In 2016, we aligned the WBW campaign to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We began the 15-year journey to achieve sustainable development through breastfeeding by 2030. We call this the WBW-SDGs Campaign.
WABA clustered the UN SDGs into 4 Thematic Areas that relate to each other and to breastfeeding.
#WBW2018 focuses on Thematic Area 1 which is to prevent malnutrition in all its forms, to ensure food security even in times of crises and to break the cycle of poverty.
A sustainable and more equal world begins with efforts to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. Malnutrition, food insecurity and poverty affect millions and stand in the way of sustainable development.
Breastfeeding is a universal solution that gives everyone a fair start in life and lays the foundation for good health and survival of children and women.
The Objectives of #WBW2018 are to:
A team effort is needed to make breastfeeding work. We are inspired by your support and the work you do. Join the #WBW2018 social media movement by using the creative assets and interacting on social media channels.
